Steven is a frequent public speaker on issues in school reform. Recent talks include the New York Times Cities for Tomorrow conference and the Philadelphia Ideas Festival. 

He has spoken at the Brookings Institution, the Center for American Progress, and the American Enterprise Institute, and lectured at the Kennedy School of Government, Columbia’s Teachers College, and Harvard Law School.
